A Quick Intro

Hello,

My name is Eddy Cespedes. 3 years ago I suffered a partial tear in my ACL that limited a lot of my athletic life. I chose not to undergo any surgical treatment in hopes that the knee would heal itself, and after 3 years, I finally began to see some improvements.

Earlier this year I took the initiative to try and rehab my knee. I also made some other health decisions that helped in reducing much of the pain, such as dropping 10 pounds. I can now walk a bit more comfortable, and the pain is seldom.

In my youth, I used to be an athlete, and seeing as I missed 3 years due to injury, I have made it a goal to reclaim those lost years by getting back into the shape that I once was – that which reflects my late teen years. The purpose of this blog is to track my progress as I attempt to climb back into basketball shape. My ultimate goal is to regain the vertical jump that I was notorious for in my basketball playing days.

Since I do still suffer from a partial ACL tear, I’m going to attempt to be my own trainer and reach my goal my own way. Too often I have found myself working out with or being trained by people that just don’t understand my body and the fluctuating levels of pain that my knee undergoes. For that reason, I feel like this is a journey that is better taken alone. With no workout partners or personal trainers, this blog will serve as my motivating factor and as a method of tracking my progress.
